*How do I get a library card?*
Come to the circulation desk. There you will fill out a form giving your name, address, and a reference in the service area (Whitfield, Catoosa, Gordon and Murray counties). You must have something with your current address on it such as a driver's license, bill, check, or letter officially stamped by the post office. People up to age 18 must have a parent or guardian co-sign. The first card is free.
Your card will have a "barcode" number on it that is unique. Please take care of your card. Treat it like a credit card. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MATERIALS BORROWED ON YOUR CARD, WHETHER FOR YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. If your card has to be replaced due to loss or damage, there will be a $2.00 charge.
IF YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME OR ADDRESS, PLEASE LET THE LIBRARY KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

RENEWING:
Materials may be renewed two times---as long as a reserve/hold has not been placed on them by another patron.
RETURNING:
Patrons are encouraged to return all materials to the circulation desk. An outdoor bookdrop is available for after hours use. Please return audio/visual materials to the circulation desk during library hours, as they often suffer damage when placed in the book drop.
*What happens if I don't turn it in on time?*
Materials should be returned on or before the due date. There is a fine of $0.10 per day for all materials except audio/visual for which the charge is $1.00 per day with a maximum of $5.00 per overdue item. Fines are calculated automatically by the computer. If they are not paid when the materials are returned, they will be charged to your card. Fines (if you have more than 3 items overdue, the fine is still a maximum of $5.00 per item) that exceed $10.00, will cause the suspension of borrowing privileges.
